True stories

One from the world of writing that is indicative of how certain cultures differ. Don't Look Behind You has two versions - one for Australia and New Zealand, the other for the rest of the world. This came about because of the way a deal was structured, better for me but it did mean that I underwent the editing process for it twice. When the US edit was being done (the one that would be global) an editor pointed out politely that I am apparently obsessed with my posterior and it had been mentioned three times thus far in the manuscript. When the Australian edit was being done an editor wrote in a margin "chance for a bum joke here?"

Ah Australia, you make me so proud.

  1. Ah Peter, don't stop now, you've built a career on making an ars of yourself.

Here's to your continued success, and thanks for helping me collect a New Zealand flag on my blog.

  3. No, it's working, it's me who can't keep track of where you are--and guests in Ecuador, New Zealand and Poland all came in to my site at the same time (doesn't track IP's, just country, page views).
Good to "see" you again--safe travels.
