I am sick of the overuse of the TLA (three letter acronym) LOL. If people really did laugh out loud as often as they write that the world truly be a happier place. A lot noisier too.
I think it is now passe, and needs updates. My candidate is LSMIF - laughing so much I farted. Any other suggestions?

I believe the problem is that typed words lack the verbal nuance of sound. Many people use LOL to convey that what they are saying to the the reader is not meant to be serious.
ReplyDeleteSometimes you type a comment which, if heard, would not offend or annoy or even show you are not serious but if read it may convey the opposite? So LOL prevents any misunderstands right *>). Thoughts?

"What's a TLA?"
"A three letter acronym"
"I know - but what's it stand for?"
