I have been laggardly lately due to way too much time on the Caribbean Coast of Colombia. Even if the internet was a priority there it was rare to find it working, even rarer for it to work fast enough that I didn't need three meals in the time it took for the Google page to load.
I'd love to say that all will change soon, but in September I will spend most of the month in Sacha Lodge, Ecuador, so will mainly be walking around with my binos pressed hard to face looking for ocelots, caiman, sloths and some of the 600 or so species of bird that have been recorded there.
It is true, I am such a nerd that recently in the cloud forest I got binocular burn around my eyes from intense bird watching.

Hey Peter, I am reading your first book and loving it! I popped onto here to take a look and was so excited to read you are visiting Sacha Lodge in Ecuador... I have just returned from a 4month stint in Ecuador working as a travel writer for a company there... I never visited Sacha myself but the company I worked for sold tours there so I was very familiar with it and think you will have a great time!... However... I really really would urge you to try visit Kapawi Lodge... Please read these blogs I wrote which explain what the lodge is about, it really offers a more authentic experience than Sacha and gives back to the rainforest too! I visited Kapawi and was just so amazed at what they are doing I wrote a lot about it...
