Bowing to public pressure, something about vampires.
I can now confirm that being crapped on by a vampire bat is far worse than by a bird. A diet of blood only leads to nasty pooh. I'm just glad it wasn't Robert Pattison.
I am on the beach in Kauai reading your book "whatever you do don't run" Getting some real strange looks from people because I keep on bursting out laughing. thanks for a wonderful read, I am planning on going to Africa in 2011 so reading everything I can find, and this was wonderful! Made me want to be there NOW!
Any chance we can get some tips from you on "how to find a walking safari in the Okavango and still being able to pay for your return ticket" We just want to hike for a few days. We don't need any fancy tent or a chef. just a nice guide with a big gun. We did that for $300 in south Africa. We can't find anything below $1500 in Botswana. BTW: we love your book. We want to do just like you when we grow old! Marlene & Eric, 30...
Hi all, sorry for my long absence from here, I have been in some fairly remote parts of Colombia where the internet is apparently powered by a sloth with a substance abuse problem. So, CIA (and please tell me you have a brother named FBI) thanks for your comment, glad you enjoyed the book. Marlene, I am afraid that I am a little out of the loop as far as what safari operators are out there now that offer that sort of thing - maybe Tripadvisor can help? If not, try searching certain private guides like Matthew Copham, Russell Crossey, Gregg Hughes or Clinton Phillips and see if they have anything online that might be of interest. As a warning, they are all friends of mine so probably worth avoiding.
That really wasn't helpful at all, was it? Sorry..
If I do come up with something I will post it here.
Waow!! An answer from Peter Allison himself! I have to call all the friends I talked to about your book! Thanks a lot, I ll definitely try the names you mentionnend! Enjoy Colombia! But not everything about colombia!
Hi Marlene, I do try to reply to all posts but get laggardly when I am offline for long periods (about to happen soon). Thanks for telling others about the books. Peter
