Dead crush

Some crushes you grow out of (Debbie Harry, what happened to you?), others just fade away - sometimes you get slapped out of one.

Elle MacPherson fuelled many an unlikely scenario in my pubescent years, but after she has casually admitted to taking rhino horn (and taking it regularly), she now repulses me. I hope she goes to jail for this, and hope the people she buys it from do to.

  1. Hi Peter

In complete agreement with these comments but have also acquired the knowledge that any celebrity with that much previous fame and attention regardless of where they are from has got to keep the fires burning somehow.
Hopefully this applies in this misguided and uninformed case,

On a completely different subject, Im half way through both of your literary offerings and would just like to inform you that so far , you are the second author to ever have me laugh out loud in a room by myself with nothing but a book,

Many thanks and when can we expect the next chapter or volume from yourself,

There have to be more stories and adventures waiting for reveal,

    Kind regards , David

  2. I think she deserves a Rhino horn...with the rhino still attached and moving towards her at full speed!

  3. Hi David,

Thanks for the kind words about the books, I am glad that you are enjoying them. I'm writing this from Ecuador, which I have made my way to via Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, Brazil and Peru in search of more stories for a book due out late next year. It will have a different flavour than the other two, but will hopefully taste better than rhino horn.

    Cheers,
    Peter

  4. Hi Norman,

I have had it suggested that she gets put into a boma with a relocated rhino and see how she feels about it then.

    I'm all for it...

    Cheers,
    Peter

  5. Hi Peter

    Thanks for reply,

Moss certainly doesnt grow on your veldskoen(bush boots , but you probably know that)does it!

Sounds completely different but also enthralling , cant wait for release, please keep me updated!

Are you working as before in camps and wildlife locations or are you now completely journalist only?

If possible can you send some pics( of the places and refreshment hours)of the new excursion and your time in Bots and Namibia,

Pics in books were great, just not enough.

Final question - know your busy - any chance of coming back to S.A. OR Bots or are you returning to Oz,
Not stalking you , promise, but i guess all the stalkers say that,

    Thanks for your time

    David

  6. Hi David,

As the sone and grandson of journalists I can't lay claim to being one of those... but am pretty much a full time writer now - that being said it pays only moderately better than homelessness so maybe I should get a real job.

There are many more pics on my Facebook page, and for now that will sadly have to do as my computer was just stolen, as was my camera and with it all the photos taken on this trip so far.

I do plan on getting back to Botswana soon and am keen on taking a break from guiding retirement and leading a few trips. I'll post any details of those here.

    Cheers,
    Peter
